Enrolling in Mindful Hearts

Mindful Hearts Microschool serves children grades K-5.

Though all children are more than welcome, we are especially proud to offer a safe, inclusive, and low-pressure environment for children who need a smaller group size, who are neurodiverse, or who have been described as having moderate behavior challenges and a variety of other backgrounds. 

Our trained and trauma-informed staff understand the importance of a holistic and empathetic approach to children’s learning and aim to meet the child’s needs and, though we challenge them to reach their potential, we offer flexibility and follow the child’s pace.

FAQs

  • Children from all backgrounds are welcomed, but we specialize in children with changing family dynamics and those needing intentional social/emotional support. Our students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and situations:

    -Children with ADHD

    -Children of divorced/separated/co-parenting/blended or other changing family dynamics

    -Foster/adopted children

    -Children with anxiety

    -Children with an incarcerated parent

    -Military children

    -Children recently having experienced a loss/grieving

    -Children who prefer smaller groups

    -Children with big emotions

    -Children struggling with low self-esteem & confidence

    -Highly intuitive and highly sensitive children

    -Low support needs ASD (also referred to as “high functioning” autism)

    -Children that have done therapy before and are in between the stages of needing more outside assistance and support but not necessarily therapy.

  • $9,000 per year all-inclusive.

    $500 discount for returning families. Payments per quarter.

  • We are in the East Valley in Queen Creek, located in the beautiful Meadows & Parks Community.

    The Mental Hearts Play Lab is on the side of the residence with its own entrance and yard for children and families.

  • Meet the teacher is August 5th, 2024.

    The First Day of school is August 6th, 2024

    School is Tuesday- Friday 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM

    For the 2024/2025 school year, we’ll be introducing a hybrid option. Contact us for more details.

    We’ll provide parents/caregivers with a school year calendar of events and days off, and a daily schedule for advance scheduling plans.

  • We try to offer as many services as possible for our clients & parents under one roof to prevent parent burnout and reduce driving to so many places for appointments. Children enrolled in our one-on-one sessions can have their sessions scheduled into their regular school day and we welcome other technical assistants on site like speech therapists.

    Children who are also enrolled in our afterschool program automatically get enrolled into our Superheros/Clubhouse program.

    We also offer a variety of free events for children and parents to get to know their community members and build connections.

  • We take pride in our staff and all staff is thoroughly vetted and qualified.

    Your child will interact mainly with their online teacher, the onsite guide, the academic coach, our afterschool program and Yoga instructor, and the MHTP owner.

    On occasion, our support staff like our RRR director and operations director may be on site.

    Parents/caregivers are highly encouraged to get to know our staff and the parents/caregivers of their child’s peers.

    Our trained therapeutic dog Coffy is onsite with her sister Koko. You will see them, and Coffy occasionally joins us in sessions or to support children as they complete their academic work.
